# The promo-code link in bio, explained

A promo-code link in bio is a bio page organized around the codes you promote instead of the links you post. Each brand is a card, the code is the biggest thing on the card, followers tap once to copy it, and every code lives at one stable address you can say out loud.

## Why a link page is the wrong shape for codes

A classic link-in-bio page is a stack of buttons. That is the right shape when the thing you share is a link. But what you actually say in a video is a code: "use code SARAH20". Your viewer is often already at a checkout page with the discount box open. They do not need a button, they need eight characters they can copy.

On a link page, the code is a line of body text somewhere behind a tap, if it appears at all. On a code page, the code is set larger than the brand name and larger than your photo, with a copy button under it and the shop link as the second step for people who want it.

## What a code-first page changes in practice

- **One address for every brand.** Your page lives at usecode.sh/yourname, so you stop editing your bio link between campaigns. New code, new card, same URL.
- **Tap to copy.** Followers copy the exact code instead of retyping it from a caption, which means fewer typos at checkout and fewer lost discounts.
- **Copies are counted.** Views, shop taps, and code copies are three separate numbers. Buyers who use a code often never tap the link, which is the whole point of a code as an attribution mechanism, and a click-only tool cannot see them. See [why code copies do not show up as link clicks](/guides/code-copies-vs-link-clicks).
- **Your existing deals stay yours.** Links you bring keep their destination and tracking parameters, and the account model does not allow a fee to attach to them.

## Who this is for

Creators whose income runs through discount codes: UGC creators with brand codes, affiliates whose programs issue codes alongside links, and anyone who says "use code" in their content. If you mainly sell your own digital products, a storefront tool is a better fit than a code page; if you mainly share commissionable links with no codes, a classic link page can be enough.

## What it does not do

- It does not create affiliate relationships or commissions. Programs like [LTK](/compare/ltk) and [ShopMy](/compare/shopmy) do that; a code page presents what they give you.
- It does not verify that a brand's code works at their checkout, and it does not claim a copy became a sale. Copies measure interest.
- It is not a coupon site. Every code on a usecode.sh page was added by the creator who owns the page; nothing is scraped.
