Picking a link-in-bio tool for promo codes

Reviewed by the usecode.sh team on

Judge a bio tool for promo codes on six things: whether codes are copyable in one tap, whether the code or the button is the visual center, whether copies get counted, what the free tier actually includes, whether your existing links keep their tracking, and whether the page updates without touching your bio. Different tools genuinely win different rows.

The six criteria

  1. One-tap copy. Retyped codes get typo'd. Linktree offers a discount-code link app with one-tap copy on all plans, and a code-first page makes copy the primary action. A plain button list fails this.
  2. Code prominence. Is the code the biggest thing on the card, or body text inside a link? If followers arrive looking for the code, layout is not cosmetic.
  3. Copy analytics. Clicks miss the buyers who copy and go direct. Ask whether the tool counts copies per code per day; Linktree's published analytics describe clicks and views, not copy counts.
  4. Free-tier shape. Check what the free plan gates: Linktree's free analytics window is the last 28 days; Beacons' free tier takes a 9% fee on commerce; Stan Store has no free plan at all. usecode.sh is free with full analytics, and the trade is that it only does codes and links.
  5. Link integrity. Your affiliate links should keep their destination and tracking parameters. Verify this for any tool you adopt.
  6. Stable address. Campaign turnover should mean editing a card, not the bio. Every tool with a hosted page passes this; raw links in a bio do not.

Applying it by tool type

  • Link page (Linktree, Beacons)

    Strong rows
Stable address, huge ecosystems, code app available (Linktree, all plans)
    Weak rows
Code prominence, copy analytics, free-tier gates on analytics depth
  • Storefront (Stan Store)

    Strong rows
Selling your own products, checkout conversion
    Weak rows
Brand promo codes are not the product; codes there are checkout coupons for your own goods; no free plan
  • Code-first page (usecode.sh)

    Strong rows
One-tap copy, code prominence, copy counting, free
    Weak rows
Only codes and links; no store, courses, email, or scheduling

If codes are a side dish next to a store you run, a storefront with a code block wins. If codes are the main course, the page should be shaped like them; that argument in full is the promo-code link in bio, and the detailed head-to-head is usecode vs Linktree.
