How to report promo-code engagement to brands
Reviewed by the usecode.sh team on
Report the three numbers you actually own, labeled for what they are: page views, shop taps, and code copies, per code, over the campaign window. Never present copies as sales. Brands see redemptions you cannot see; a report that respects that line is more credible than one that inflates it, and credibility is what renews deals.
The report format
Views
- What to write
- People who opened your code page during the campaign
- Why brands care
- Reach that made it past the content to intent
Shop taps
- What to write
- Click-throughs to their site from your page
- Why brands care
- Matches what their own link tracking shows
Code copies
- What to write
- Times the code was copied, labeled as engagement
- Why brands care
- The clickless demand their click data misses
Content
- What to write
- Which posts the code card was attached to, with dates
- Why brands care
- Lets them line up spikes with your content
Close with one sentence inviting reconciliation: "Your redemption numbers will complete this; here is the window and code so your team can pull them." That sentence does more for a renewal than any inflated claim.
What never goes in the report
- Estimated sales or revenue you did not observe. If you only measured copies, say copies.
- Screenshots of dashboards that mix labeled and unlabeled numbers.
- Comparisons to other creators you cannot verify.
Making the numbers exist in the first place
This report is only possible if your codes live somewhere that counts all three signals per code. Captions cannot do it, and a link page only gives you taps. A code-first page counts copies alongside clicks per card per day, and attaching the campaign's posts to the card gives you the content column for free. The general measurement picture is in promo-code tracking for creators.
